Indie Memphis is holding steadfast to our goals of supporting black filmmakers. We are proud to announce that Boots Riley will select this year's Black Filmmaker Resident (non-Memphians) and Fellow (Memphians) for Screenwriting! (Barry Jenkins chose last year’s Resident and Fellow, Jamey Hatley and Raven Jackson, respectively.)  The Residency brings a filmmaker to Memphis (travel permitted) for two months to work on a screenplay, supported by guidance, mentorship, and a $7500 cash stipend. The Fellowship is a similar opportunity exclusively for Memphis Residence. The Fellowship was set up last year with a grant from Mr. Jenkins, and we are pleased to continue it this year with new support from Remembering George Riley Fund and The Arthur F. and Alice E. Adams Charitable Foundation.

Please see below for more information on how to apply to both programs. All applicants must be received by April 12 at 11:59pm CST.
